Lakers News: Injured Kobe Bryant Also Dealing with Flu

Los Angeles Lakers star Kobe Bryant is known for his incredibly high pain tolerance and his ability to play no matter what he is dealing with.

However, in the Lakers’ loss to the Atlanta Hawks, Bryant suffered a severe ankle sprain and he called it one of the worst injuries of his NBA career. Kobe tried to play on the banged up ankle in the Lakers’ game against the Indiana Pacers, but he decided to call it quits after  the first quarter.

To make matters worse for the Lakers, Bryant tweeted Saturday night that he is also dealing with the flu, making his ankle recovery process even more frustrating.

Bryant has played sick before, but not many times has there been an injury that has caused him to miss games. Kobe has been so durable over the years that is it quite shocking to see him on the bench for more than two quarters.

Nevertheless, the Lakers need to have their star fully rested for the final stretch of the season as they are making a push for the playoffs. Los Angeles will be back on the court Sunday night against the Sacramento Kings, a game they should have no problem winning even if Kobe does not suit up.
