Lakers News: Jalen Rose Admits to Trying to Injure Kobe Bryant

Remember when the Lakers took on the Indiana Pacers back in the 2000 NBA Finals? The Lakers ultimately won the series in six games, but things could have been a lot different if Jalen Rose had his way.

At the time, Rose played for the Pacers, and it was his job to guard the then-21 year-old Kobe Bryant, who had emerged as the Lakers’ second leading scorer behind Shaquille O’Neal.

In a recent interview, Rose admitted to attempting to get under Kobe during a jump shot to injure his ankle, possibly sidelining him for the remainder of the series.

Rose admitted that karma got the best of him, however, as Bryant ended up scoring 81 points against Rose’s Toronto Raptors six seasons later.

Here’s the complete video, courtesy of Grantland.
