The Los Angeles Lakers are one of the most prestigious franchises in all of sports. Very few teams face the coverage and constant pressure from fans that the Lakers do.

Apparently Jeremy Lin didn’t get the memo as he told reporters during his press conference that he feels very little pressure according to our own reporter Serena Winters:

Lin: "I feel the least amount of pressure on my shoulders now than I ever have."

— Serena Winters (@SerenaWinters) July 24, 2014

Lin, born in Torrance, California, understands the pressure that comes with being a part of the Lakers, but he also isn’t the normal acquisition.

After his time with the New York Knicks when ‘Linsanity’ was born, he joined the Houston Rockets with a $25 million contract that some felt he didn’t deserve.

Fans expected Lin to continue his amazing level of play from his time with the Knicks, and he felt the pressure to live up to the hype that came with his signing. Though he was solid, averaging around 13 points and four assists, it was a far cry from his Knicks play.

The pressure may be different in Los Angeles, but it will undoubtedly be immense as Lakers fans expect nothing but championships, and are anxious to forget last season.

Kobe Bryant told Lin that they have ‘a lot of work to do.’ That, in itself, is a level of pressure that Lin has never seen because the Black Mamba expects nothing less than perfection.
