The Los Angeles Lakers will be without yet another player in the backcourt with Jeremy Lin’s recent knee injury being enough to keep him out the final three games of the 2014-15 NBA season.

According to the Lakers official Twitter account, head coach Byron Scott says Lin will be out for the remainder of the season:

In 74 games this season, Lin averaged 11.2 points, 4.6 assists, 2.6 rebounds and 1.1 steals per game. The veteran guard shot 42.4 percent from the floor and 36.9 percent from beyond the arc.

With Lin officially done for the season, the 26-year-old’s future remains uncertain moving forward. Lin will become an unrestricted free agent this season after one year with the Lakers and there’s no telling whether he’ll be back in Los Angeles or head elsewhere in NBA free agency.

Although Lin’s numbers aren’t incredibly impressive or a throwback to Linsanity, the journeyman was able to turn things around in the second half of the season. Lin put up 13.6 points, 4.6 assists and 3.2 rebounds per game in 22 games after the All-Star break convincing some that he may have impressed the Lakers brass enough to re-sign him this summer.
