Before the Los Angeles Lakers took the floor on Wednesday night to take on the San Antonio Spurs at the AT&T Center, D’Angelo Russell was ruled out for the game with knee soreness. Knee issues became a trend for the Lakers on Wednesday with Brandon Ingram missing the second half with tendinitis flaring up and then Jordan Clarkson was ruled out of the contest in the fourth quarter with a knee problem of his own.

According to Lakers reporter Mike Trudell, Clarkson suffered a knee contusion in a collision with David Lee of the Spurs:

Jordan Clarkson suffered a left knee contusion on a drive to the rim and will not return.

Before his night prematurely came to an end, Clarkson had 17 points, six rebounds, and two assists in 28 minutes. The third-year guard shot 7-for-17 from the floor and committed five turnovers while going 1-for-5 from deep.

Following Wednesday’s game against the Spurs, the Lakers will travel back home with only one more road game left on the schedule in the 2016-17 campaign. The Lakers will host the Sacramento Kings on Friday, Minnesota Timberwolves on Sunday, and play their final home game at the Staples Center on Tuesday against the New Orleans Pelicans.

The season finale for the Lakers will take place at Oracle Arena against the top-seeded Golden State Warriors with Luke Walton facing his former team for the last time this season.
