Lakers News: Jordan Farmar Not Rushing Return From Injury

Jordan FarmarThe Los Angeles Lakers are in desperate need for a point guard as every one of them is currently sidelined due to injury.

As a result, Kobe Bryant is taking on a large role as the team’s playmaker and must find ways to get the offense going. Even though Kobe has the ability to be an effective distributor for the Lakers, it is clear he is not entirely comfortable as a point guard.

Jordan Farmar was playing extremely well for the Lakers before going down with an injury, and his presence is more missed now that all three point guards are down. Mike Trudell tweeted that although the Lakers need Farmar back on the court, the guard is not rushing through his rehab.

Farmar was part of a lethal second unit which led the NBA in scoring. Not only was Farmar capable of finding open teammates, but he was also very dangerous when the Lakers called his name on the offensive end.

In his second stint in Los Angeles, Farmar has averaged 9.2 points, 4.4 assists and 2.9 rebounds per game.
