The Los Angeles Lakers suffered a major blow to the frontcourt on Feb. 2 with veteran forward/center Jordan Hill going down with a hip injury. The injury sidelined Hill for the rest of the team’s road trip and it appears he’ll remain out in the team’s return to the Staples Center on Tuesday.

According to Lakers Nation reporter Serena Winters, Hill will miss Tuesday’s game against the Denver Nuggets:

The Lakers only have two more games on their schedule until the NBA All-Star break. Brian Shaw’s squad will travel to Los Angeles on Tuesday and then the Lakers will go on the road once again to face off against Damian Lillard’s Portland Trail Blazers.

After facing the Blazers on Wednesday at the Moda Center in Portland, the team will be off for an extended period of time. The Lakers won’t play again until Feb. 20 against the visiting Brooklyn Nets.

Hill’s initial timetable for his return was two weeks. The veteran appears to be on pace to get back on the floor in that time frame unless he suffers a setback over the course of the next week or so.
