The Lakers finished up their week-long trip to China and now are dealing with a couple of issues.
Both Steve Nash and Chris Kaman were believed to have been bothered by a stomach virus, possibly due to eating some unfamiliar foods while in China. They both missed practice yesterday, and whether either would play in the Lakers upcoming preseason game tomorrow against the Utah Jazz was up in the air.
Nash, however, cleared the air about his so-called stomach problems as our own Lakers Nation reporter Serena Winters shared:
Steve Nash said it wasn’t his stomach that was bothering him yesterday – says jetlag/recovering from China

Additionally, Winters had an update on both Nash and Kaman’s status for tomorrow’s game:
Chris Kaman may not play tomorrow due to his stomach problems (we’ll see). Steve Nash says he should be okay to play tomorrow

While it is only a preseason game, Kaman’s presence will be missed if he doesn’t play. He is developing a very solid chemistry with Pau Gasol, and the two bigs, along with Steve Nash, will be the key to the Lakers holding down the fort until Kobe Bryant can return.
Chemistry in general will be huge for this Lakers team after last season’s dysfunction. With so many new players on this season’s roster, they need to work with each other as much as possible. More than likely, however, this is just a minor setback and Kaman will return to practice and the lineup for the preseason finale on Friday.
