Lakers News: Kobe Bryant Admires Oklahoma City’s Kevin Durant

Kobe Bryant and Kevin Durant
Kobe Bryant sat down with Dave McMeniman of ESPN LA yesterday and talked about all things Dwight Howard and Lakers related, but also spoke about other things NBA.

Bryant discussed Tim Duncan and the Spurs, but McMeniman asked him about other NBA superstars and Kobe was quick to praise one in particular:

“There’s a few of them. I really like KD (Kevin Durant) quite a lot and what he does and how he plays and how he works.”

Durant and Kobe have a good relationship due to their time with the U.S. Olympic team and the Thunder and Lakers have played each other in the playoffs on two occasions. It’s been long assumed that LeBron James would succeed Bryant as the NBA next Jordan comparison, but Durant’s scoring ability has been likened to Kobe.

Prior to this season, Durant had won three straight scoring titles and if it wasn’t for Russell Westbrook going down with a knee injury against the Rockets in this year’s playoffs, the Thunder would’ve competed for a trip to the NBA Finals.

When Kobe praises someone you know they’re doing great things and Durant has made the Thunder amongst the elite in the NBA.
