Lakers News: Kobe Bryant Claims Lakers’ Offense “Under Construction”

After losing two straight games to the Miami Heat and Orlando Magic, there are plenty of questions surrounding Kobe Bryant and the Los Angeles Lakers.

Most of those questions concern the team’s currently stagnant offense. After nearly a decade of Phil Jackson’s triangle, the team is adjusting to a new system that was brought in by Mike Brown.

So far the learning curve has been a bit harsh. After scoring just 80 points on Friday night, the Lakers scoring average for the season is just 92 points per game, with the team breaking the 100-point barrier just once thus far.

After losing to Miami on Thursday Bryant stated that the offense still has some areas where improvement is needed. According to Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports, Bryant claims the team is still learning.

“It’s under construction. We’re still working on the blueprints, actually.”

Obviously the compressed schedule makes things a little trickier for the team since they don’t have a normal practice schedule. Still, they aren’t the only team that was locked out this season.

Mike Brown faced offensive issues during his days in Cleveland, which ultimately led to his dismissal as head coach. While it is still far too soon to judge Brown’s impact as head coach of the Lakers, offensively he’s not off to a great start.

The team will look to rebound from their back-to-back losses Sunday night when they take on the upstart Indiana Pacers back at Staples Center.
