With LeBron James looking to lead the Cleveland Cavaliers to another trip to the NBA Finals, the endless debate over the greatest player(s) has reached a fever pitch. James is most often compared to Michael Jordan, though some have wondered why Kobe Bryant isn’t in the discussion.

The most prominent former players to recently question why the Los Angeles Lakers legend gets overlooked were Allen Iverson and Tracy McGrady, both of whom competed against Bryant, and were certain to clarify nothing was to be taken away from James.

When asked, Bryant and James have largely remained above the fray. Both downplay the conversation and debate considering their is a lack of absolute proof in favor of either of them.

But Bryant was moved to like a tweet that championed him as the more skilled player when compared to James. He’s since ‘un-liked’ the tweet, which can be viewed via screen capture below:

Despite the apparent sleight, Bryant did use James as the focal point for his latest episode of “Detail” on ESPN+. Whatever competitive juices flowed when they were on the court together, Bryant and James have regularly praised one another.

With only one of them still playing, James is working on adding to his three NBA championships and moving up the all-time scoring lists, among other personal achievements. This season was the first of James’ 15-year career that he played in all 82 games.
