NBA: Golden State Warriors at Los Angeles Lakers
Late in the game Friday against the Golden State Warriors, Kobe Bryant left the game with what appeared to be a serious injury. Turns out serious was right, as Lakers PR announced following the game that Bryant suffered what was believed to be a torn Achilles, and could be out for the season.

Bryant will get an MRI to confirm the diagnosis on Saturday, but for now it’s not looking good for Bryant.

After the game, Bryant spoke to the media (via Time Warner Cable SportsNet).

“I made a move I’ve made a million times, and (the Achilles) just popped.”

Here’s the full press release from the Lakers.

Los Angeles Lakers guard Kobe Bryant, who left the game late in the fourth quarter of tonight’s victory over the Golden State Warriors, has been diagnosed with a probable torn Achilles tendon.

Bryant will undergo an MRI examination tomorrow to confirm the diagnosis.
