After the Lakers were defeated by the Hawks 96-92 last night, everyone was buzzing about Kobe Bryant and his ankle. Bryant was injured on his last second attempt to tie the game, when he landed awkwardly on the baseline.

Pundits around the country have tried to decipher whether or not Dahntay Jones cut underneath Bryant in an attempt to hurt him when he landed. Lakers Nation weighed in today and 93% believe that Jones did in fact try to injure Bryant. Here are the results to a poll we conducted today,

Meanwhile, Bryant and Jones took to Twitter to voice their own opinion about the play. Bryant tweeted after the game,

#dangerousplay that should have been called. Period.

— Kobe Bryant (@kobebryant) March 14, 2013

On the flip side, Jones defended himself, saying he didn’t try to injure Bryant,

Tape doesn’t lie. Ankle was turned on the floor after the leg kick out that knocked him off balance. I would never try to hurt the man

— Dahntay (@dahntay1) March 14, 2013

Regardless, Lakers Nation has spoken and believe that Jones tried to injure Bryant by positing himself to be under Bryant when he landed. There’s no way of knowing whether Jones wanted to injure Bryant, but his history with him suggests he might have. Bryant is listed as being out indefinitely, but with his track record, look for Bryant to be in the lineup earlier than expected.
