Lakers News: Las Vegas Still Favors Lakers To Reach Postseason

NBA: Los Angeles Lakers at Milwaukee BucksAfter two big wins against the New Orleans Hornets and Portland Trail Blazers earlier this week, the Lakers are back in control of their own destiny. In the current standings the Lakers are one game up on the Utah Jazz for the eighth and final playoff spot with three games to go. Those games are against the Warriors, Spurs and Houston Rockets. Utah on the other hand has two games against the Minnesota Timberwolves before closing the season out in Memphis against the Grizzlies.

To make things even trickier for the Lakers, the Jazz hold the tiebreaker due to winning the season series. So in order for the Lakers to secure the final playoff spot in the Western Conference, they have to finish a full game ahead of the Jazz.

But that doesn’t seem to be scaring the bookmakers in Las Vegas away from picking the Lakers.

According to the experts over at Sportsbook.com, L.A. is still a 1/5 favorite to reach the postseason, whereas the Jazz are 3/1.

So, if you’re absolutely convinced the Lakers will reach the playoffs this season, now might be the time to put some money down.

Kobe Bryant, who’s been playing over 47 minutes per game over the course of the last week, has already guaranteed the team will reach the playoffs.
