Lakers News: Latest Report Has Steve Nash Missing 7-10 Days

I don’t know what’s going on anymore. But Ken Berger from CBS Sports was apparently told this by the Lakers’ medical staff.

Latest info from Lakers’ medical staff has Steve Nash missing about 7-10 days, according to a person briefed on the point guard’s prognosis.

— Ken Berger (@KBergCBS) November 5, 2012

First reports had Nash missing a minimum of one week. It sounded a bit funny because it IS a little fracture on the leg. Those take a little bit of time. And then, last night, it was mentioned that Nash could miss up to a month.

Now we have this report that he could miss 7-10 days. Basically, it was mentioned that he’s going to miss only the original minimum.

At the very least, we know that Mike Brown is not going to rush Nash back, which is very wise. Here’s what he told Sporting News:

Lakers coach Mike Brown said Sunday he does not plan to bring Nash back before he has fully healed.

“You obviously hope he’s back as soon as possible,” Brown said Sunday. “But the one thing you don’t want to do, you don’t want to compromise his long-term health for him coming back quicker than he should. So, (trainer) Gary Vitti and the staff are on top of it. We’ll just wait and play it out from there.”

So I won’t be surprised if Nash sits out for as long as four weeks, anyway. As long as the other troops like Steve Blake and Darius Morris can hold the fort on the point guard spot, the Lakers should be okay and SHOULD rest Nash as long as possible.
