Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James knows what its like to break significant records as he holds a number of them in the NBA, including being the leading scorer in league history.
James’ favorite NFL team, the Cleveland Browns, had a chance to make history on Sunday as defensive end Myles Garrett was one sack away from breaking the all-time record. It took him a while to get it, but he did in the fourth quarter against the Cincinnati Bengals, sacking Joe Burrow for his 23rd of the season.
Garrett now stands along in the NFL record book after passing both Michael Strahan and T.J. Watt and after the game, James took to social media to congratulate his friend:
CONGRATULATIONS MY GOOD BROTHER!!!!!!! @Flash_Garrett 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾💪🏾

Considering James is a Browns fan, he has built a close relationship with Garrett over the years with the latter often paying homage to the Lakers star with his celebrations.
Garrett considering requesting a trade from the Browns this past offseason and consulted with James about it before ultimately returning to Cleveland. Even though they won’t be making the playoffs this season, Garrett has to feel good that he set this record wearing a Browns jersey after originally being drafted No. 1 overall by them.
LeBron James compares Luka Doncic and himself to quarterback and receiver
James played some football himself back in high school and probably could’ve made the NFL if he wasn’t so good at basketball. He still utilizes his football skillset on the hardwood though as he recently compared himself and Luka Doncic to a receiver and quarterback after an outlet pass led to an easy layup.
“One of the best quarterbacks and I’m a pretty good receiver, when it comes to that,” James said. “It’s my job to not allow the defense to break that up or steal the ball. And he put it right on target, and made it a lot easier for me.”
LeBron also added that he learned from Randy Moss to not put his hands up until the last possible second to keep the defense guessing.
