After missing the first five preseason games with hamstring and immigration issues, point guard Marcelo Huertas was finally able to get on the basketball floor for the Los Angeles Lakers on Saturday.

Although no one knew what to expect from the Brazilian guard, Huertas didn’t disappoint in his preseason debut in purple and gold. Huertas came off the bench during the win over the Golden State Warriors at the Valley View Casino Center in San Diego and instantly made an impact on the game.

In 12 minutes off the bench, Huertas scored four points, dished out six assists and blocked a shot. The 32-year-old clearly made an impression and convinced many Lakers fans why the coaching staff seems to be leaning toward giving him a spot on the final 15-man roster.

Huertas will be back in action on Monday night with the Lakers going back home to the Staples Center to play host to Damian Lillard’s Portland Trail Blazers.
