Julius Randle

With Summer League in progress, many eyes will be on Julius Randle, the Los Angeles Lakers’ first round pick in 2014. Randle has really impressed in practices so far with a number of teammates complimenting and talking about his strength. A former Laker has also felt his strength first-hand.

— Have you seen the ‘Bleed Purple and Gold’ phone case? —

Metta World Peace worked out with Randle recently and according to Mark Medina of the Los Angeles Daily News, he made sure to let the Lakers coaches know how strong Randle is:

This kid is super strong,” Lakers coach Byron Scott recalled World Peace observing to others around him.”If Metta says that, he’s pretty strong. Metta is pretty strong.”

Head coach Byron Scott also noted that World Peace was bouncing off of Randle when the two were going at it:

They were bumping and grinding,” Scott said, smiling. “It was kind of fun to watch. Metta is the old wily vet and you have this young bull. Every now and then, Metta got the best of him. But when he hit Metta, Metta bounced off of him.”

Even in his older years, World Peace was always one of the strongest wing players in the NBA. He was strong enough to deal with many power forwards and constantly moved smaller players out the way. If he is really bouncing off Randle like Scott says, that is a very good indicator as to how strong Randle is.

Randle has been putting in a lot of work since his injury and now is ready to return to the court. He has a lot of potential in this league and if he is able to put it all together, Randle will be a force in the NBA.
