Lakers News: Metta World Peace Undergoes Successful Surgery

ronartest2011According to the Lakers PR, Metta World Peace underwent successful surgery on Thursday on his left knee. World Peace, who suffered the injury on Monday night against the Golden State Warriors, is expected to miss the remainder of the season with the injured knee.

The Lakers won their first game without World Peace on Wednesday when they defeated the Timberwolves 120-117.

The surgery was performed by team doctors Steve Lombardo and Dan Kharrazi of the Kerlan-Jobe Orthopaedic Group in Los Angeles. World Peace, who has averaged 12.8 points, 5.1 rebounds and 1.70 steals in 70 games (64 starts) this season, is expected to be out a minimum of six weeks.[/showhide]
