Kendall MarshallThe Los Angeles Lakers may have found their savior, well sort of.

After a breakout game against the Utah Jazz, the entire Los Angeles Lakers fan base has fallen in love with Kendall Marshall. The once D-League point guard is now suiting up for the Lakers and his performance versus the Jazz has impressed those around him. Marshall scored 20 points and dished out 15 assists in the win and the coaching staff is hoping he can stay consistent moving forward.

Coach Mike D’Antoni spoke to the Los Angeles Times and he talked about what kind of impact Marshall made on the team. The Lakers are struggling to stay competitive in the Western Conference and have been facing injuries nearly the entire season. Marshall’s stellar play has the team amped and could spark something special in Los Angeles:

“He might not have those numbers all the time — maybe he does, maybe he doesn’t — but  the rhythm that he gives us is what’s important,” D’Antoni said. “Everybody has a little bit more pep in their step [Saturday] and last night.”

Steve Nash might not return this season while other point guards Jordan Farmar and Steve Blake still months away, he looks to be the starter for the foreseeable future.Marshall will be counted on to produce as the team is dealing with a handful of injuries and only time will tell if he will have a repeat performance the next time he hits the court.
