kobe-2k14The NBA 2K series is one of the most popular sports video game series in the world. It’s release is always highly anticipated, and the product is always some of the best of all sports games every year.

Prior to the release of the game, the production crew revealed player ratings for specific players. In addition, numerous other ratings have been leaked out. According to Fansided, Pau Gasol rates as an 81 in this version of the game, which is an increase of 1 point as Gasol was an 80 as of the latest roster update from the 2K13 version.

Other notable official ratings include cover man LeBron James being rated a 99, Oklahoma City point guard Russell Westbrook being a 91, and Indiana Pacer rising superstar Paul George clocking an 88.

There have also been numerous Laker ratings that have been released, but have not been made official. Those ratings include Kobe Bryant being an 93, Steve Nash as an 80, Chris Kaman rated a 75, and Nick Young rated a 72.

If these rankings are official, or at least close to it, that doesn’t bode too well for the Lakers’ team rating in the game. With teams like Houston, Oklahoma City, Miami, and Golden State bound to have numerous players rated in nineties or high eighties, it’s safe to say the Lakers won’t be one of the higher rated teams on the game.

Of course, real life Kobe makes anything possible, so I’m sure virtual Kobe will be able to do the same.
