Lakers News: NBA Average Ticket Prices Rise

The National Basketball Association had to deal with a lockout during the summer and many expected the league to suffer in terms of fan appreciation. However, Yahoo Sports reports that the league has not seen a decrease in the amount fans have been paying to see games.

The NBA has had record-setting television ratings and we now know that the average ticket prices to see a basketball game has increased for the first time in three three years.

The average ticket price for an NBA game is $48.48, which is up 1.7 percent.

Watching a New York Knicks games costs on average $117.47, a 32.5 percent increase. That number is five times more than watching a game in Memphis and twice as much as the league average.

The Los Angeles Lakers are second and attending their games cost on average, $99.25, a 4.2 percent increase.
