During the win over the Orlando Magic on Sunday night, two-time NBA champion Pau Gasol had to leave the game due to dizziness. The veteran forward did not return and spent the night in the hospital as a result.

On Monday, Gasol was officially diagnosed with vertigo according to Lakers PR:

It appears that Gasol may miss the game on Tuesday against the New York Knicks due to the illness. Gasol is considered doubtful according to Lakers PR:

The hits just keep coming in terms of the Lakers dealing with injury issues. Potentially losing Gasol against a red-hot Knicks squad will be a major blow.

Along with the Lakers needing their star center for Tuesday’s game, it will also be the first time the Lakers will face the Knicks since Phil Jackson joined the team as the president of basketball operations.

Without Gasol in the lineup, head coach Mike D’Antoni may go with Chris Kaman at center or possibly Jordan Hill who is coming off arguably the best performance of his NBA career.
