Los Angeles Lakers assistant coach Quin Snyder spent one season with the team, but has decided to move on. Snyder gained the respect of the Lakers players and worked well with the rest of the staff during his tenure with the Lakers.

The Lakers already lost coaching consultant Ettore Messina to CSKA Moscow and they have learned that Snyder will also be taking his talent to Russia.

Assistant coach Quin Snyder will leave the Lakers to take same position w/ CSKA Moscow. Laker players liked him. I hope he has a fur parka.

CSKA Moscow is one of the most well known clubs in European Basketball and the Lakers personnel could not turn down an offer from them. Snyder could have become a head coach in the NBA if he pushed hard enough, but it looks like he would like to coach in Russia.

Snyder recently interviewed for the head coaching position with the Charlotte Bobcats.
