The city of Los Angeles is overloaded with superstar athletes across the major sports. The Los Angeles Lakers have Luka Doncic, LeBron James and Austin Reaves, while the L.A. Rams have Matthew Stafford, Puka Nacua, Davante Adams and the L.A. Dodgers have Shohei Ohtani, Mookie Betts, Freddie Freeman, Yoshinobu Yamamoto, and more. Los Angeles sports are in as good a place as they have ever been.
And it’s common to see stars from other sports in L.A. showing up at games of different teams to support. One of those was when Nacua, the Rams’ superstar wide receiver, was in attendance at Doncic’s first home game as a member of the Lakers. The two met after the game, and fans had fun with the idea of Luka and Puka being friends.
And the Rams star apparently wants to take it a step further, joking that he’d like to start a podcast with the Lakers star, via Mason & Ireland on ESPN:
“I did meet Luka. I was at Luka’s first home game as a Laker, his home opener. I got a Luka jersey. We’re both Jordan athletes, we exchanged [jerseys], I got a pair of Luka’s shoes. So that’s why I was like, that was my pitch. Hopefully his media team saw that or we’ll be cooking up something soon. I’m going to the game tonight, hopefully I’ll see him and pull him off to the side and be like ‘Yo, I would love to start a podcast, it’s your boy Puka.’”
Nacua has one of the most energetic and contagious personalities among today’s star athletes, and he would make a hilarious podcast host. And his idea of having Doncic be his co-host shows exactly the kind of natural entertainer he is. The Puka and Luka show would feature good personalities and brilliant minds in their respective sports.
There don’t seem to be any actual plans for this podcast being in the works, but it would be an incredible moment if that actually were able to happen.
Luka Doncic appreciative of All-Star votes
Doncic was voted an All-Star starter and received the most votes in the NBA, which he expressed his appreciation for.
“I mean, it’s pretty awesome. For me, I don’t take it for granted. I want to thank everybody that voted for me. That’s a big, big achievement for me, so it’s incredible to live this.”
