Lakers News: Ricky Rubio Talks Trash to Kobe Bryant About Olympics

Following Sunday night’s victory over the Minnesota Timerwolves the Lakers know they have a lot to work to do to get themselves on track this season.

However, it appears that it’s never too early to be looking ahead to the summer. HoopsHype.com recently released a story obtained from Marca.com that features Rubio talking a little Olympic trash to Lakers guard Kobe Bryant during Sunday’s game.

Kobe Bryant to Ricky Rubio and Pau Gasol: You talking about London?
Gasol: Oh yeah.
Rubio: You’re gonna be there?
Bryant Yeah.
Rubio: You know you’re getting the silver medal. You know that.
Bryant: [expletive]. I’m taking bets! [laughs] If I win I get the keys of Barcelona.
Rubio: I bet what you want.
Bryant: I take it!

For those that may not remember, Bryant was on the United States team that defeated Ricky Rubio and Spain in the gold medal game at the 2008 Olympics in Beijing. The game ended up being tight down the stretch, but Bryant hit several key buckets to help seal it for the Americans. It appears that at this summer’s games in London Rubio is expecting different results.
