Thanks to the vision of the late Dr. Jerry Buss, the Los Angeles Lakers have a ton of celebrity fans. Jack Nicholson has been atop the list for decades, but the likes of Ice Cube, Denzel Washington, and Snoop Dogg have all been outspoken about their favorite franchise as well.

With the Lakers having their eyes on making a splash this summer, the rumors of LeBron James joining the team as a free agent have been rampant. Many fans, however, do not care for James and would prefer him to not join the Lakers. Snoop Dogg is not one of those fans.

In fact, Snoop said that if he were the coach of the Lakers, the first thing he would do is go sign James and worry about the rest later, via ESPN’s Arash Markazi:

If “Coach Snoop” was leading the Los Angeles Lakers the first thing he’d do is get LeBron James “and then figure it out from there.” pic.twitter.com/wf1pZCsxyI

Snoop isn’t the first celebrity fan to be on board with LeBron joining the Lakers, as Ice Cube also went on record about wanting James in purple and gold and it isn’t hard to see why.

James remains the best player in the NBA today and his addition would immediately make the Lakers a playoff team and ultimately bring them much closer to championship contention. After years of being near the bottom of the NBA, fans like Snoop and Cube are ready for a return to the top.

The ongoing heated fan debate over who is better between LeBron James and Kobe Bryant has made many never want to see LeBron with the Lakers. Who knows if it will ever actually happen, but if Snoop has his say, James will be wearing purple and gold this time next year.
