UPDATED (October 4, 2:58 PM PST): Steve Nash expects to practice tomorrow:

Steve Nash says he will 100% practice tomorrow. Says he actually feels pretty good right now, could even practice tonight.

A major concern for the Los Angeles Lakers heading into the 2014-15 NBA season is the health of Steve Nash and Kobe Bryant. The two veterans have dealt with numerous injuries over the last two years keeping them limited in terms of games played.

Unfortunately, the injuries have already started to pile up for the Lakers during training camp with Nick Young going down with a thumb injury on Friday and Nash suffering an ankle injury on Saturday.

Nash tweaked his ankle by stepping on the foot of one of his teammates, via Lakers Nation reporter Serena Winters:

Lakers PR says Steve Nash "tweaked ankle" expected to practice tonight or tomorrow.

Fortunately, Vitti did say the injury may only be minor, via Winters:

Athletic Trainer Gary Vitti says they want to be careful w/ Nash so he's being held out, but does make the foot tweak sound minor

With Young out for six to eight weeks and Xavier Henry still not practicing, the Lakers are already dealing with a banged up backcourt. Nash not being a 100 percent definitely makes matters worse with the start of the regular season only a few weeks away.

Over the past few weeks, Nash has been praised for looking great in scrimmages. Many believe Nash might be back to form and ready to be the starter at the point once again.

If the ankle injury doesn’t become a problem, Nash may be on pace to get the season started healthy and that could be a game-changer for Los Angeles. Otherwise, Jeremy Lin will likely get the nod as the starter with Nash’s future and role on this team uncertain.
