Lakers News: Team To Play Games on National Television 29 Times

The Los Angeles Lakers will enter the 2013-14 with definitely lower expectations than last season, and no one has this team as the favorites to come out of the Western Conference. However, that is not stopping television stations from showing the Lakers on their networks.

The Lakers are slated to appear on national television 29 times, despite the fact that the team is in the middle of a rebuilding phase. As for the two-time defending champions Miami Heat, they are scheduled to be on the national spotlight 27 times.

That’s right; the Lakers will be on the major networks more than the Heat, who will be looking to three-peat.

The Los Angeles Lakers have 29 games on national television. That’s more than the Miami Heat (27 nationally televised games).

Nevertheless, the Lakers are in one of the biggest markets in the world and although the team is not a championship contender, fans still want to see them play. The Lakers will always remain among the most popular teams in the NBA, and it only makes sense for television networks to put them on the air.
