At his introductory press conference at the team practice facility in El Segundo, Johnson talked about his opportunity to play for the Lakers and what it means to his career. The Los Angeles Times writes that the forward sees this upcoming season as one that can determine where he stands in this league.

“I think this is one of the most important seasons of my life,” said Johnson, who struggled to live up to expectations through his first three years in the league. “I’m coming out to show you the real Wes.”

So far in his short NBA career, Johnson has averaged 7.7 points and 2.8 rebounds per game. At this point it is unclear how many minutes Johnson will be playing, but the Lakers expect him to make a big contribution in the rotation.
