One of the more pleasant surprises of this past season was the play of Xavier Henry. The former lottery pick finally seemed to fulfill some of his immense potential that got him drafted back in 2010.

Unfortunately for Henry, he struggled with injuries throughout the entire season, forcing him to miss nearly half the season. According to our own Serena Winters, Henry still has a ways to go before he is finally cleared:
Xavier Henry says the doctor says being fully cleared is about 5-6 weeks away. Putting him more at mid to late July.

Henry is still recovering from surgery to repair a torn ligament in his left wrist. In addition, he has dealt with meniscus issues in his knee that he is still recovering from as well.
It will be interesting to see what kind of attention Henry garners in free agency. When healthy he showed the ability to get to the basket at will, and was even able to fill in at point guard for the Lakers when injuries began destroying the roster.
Henry is still only 23 years old and with Nick Young’s future up in the air right now, Henry could remain with the Lakers as someone similar, who will likely command much less money.
Getting healthy is Henry’s top priority, and a healthy Henry could be a major contributor for the Lakers if he remains in Los Angeles next season.
