The Los Angeles Lakers are now in tinker mode, experimenting with lineups and attempting to find some useful bit of insight that can help them in the future.

With the playoffs no longer a possibility, the focus instead is on obtaining the best odds possible of retaining their 2017 first-round pick (top three protected) and on finding out exactly what they have in their young players.

With that being the case, head coach Luke Walton recently shifted starting point guard D’Angelo Russell to the bench in favor of sixth man Jordan Clarkson, who played the one spot as a rookie. Is this just a fact-finding experiment or could the Lakers be looking at a more permanent transition?
