Devin-EbanksRemember Devin Ebanks? He’s that guy the Lakers drafted back in the 2010 NBA Draft out of West Virginia that kind of looks like Trevor Ariza. Then he went and got himself busted for DUI and fell so far out of the rotation it would have taken an act of God to get him back on the floor for the Lakers. Unfortunately for Ebanks that heavenly intervention never came, and he didn’t see the floor in 63 regular season games and all four postseason games against the Spurs.

As if this wasn’t enough of an indication that Ebanks’ time with the Lakers was over, his exit interview pretty much sealed that up, too. And, for one more nail in Ebanks’ purple and gold coffin, team beat reporter Eric Pincus of the L.A. Times has mentioned in his latest post that Ebanks will most certainly not be back in Los Angeles next season.

The Lakers would need to issue Ebanks a $1.3-million qualifying offer this summer to make him a restricted free agent — but it’s safe to say they won’t.

Ebanks will most likely pick up on another team. He still has serviceable qualities that teams around the league will find valuable. His length and agility are two things that work in his favor, and could make him a decent bench player for the next few seasons. But with an attitude that clearly wasn’t happy with his role in Los Angeles, that may scare off some teams that aren’t looking for the headache.

Ebanks wasn’t the only player whose exit interview left his future with the team in doubt. Here’s what Dwight Howard had to say about his future with Los Angeles:
