Lakers Rumors: Earl Clark Closing In On Lucrative Deal In China?

NBA: Los Angeles Lakers at Houston Rockets

With three players out for the entire 2014-15 NBA season for the Los Angeles Lakers, the team has worked out numerous players over the last couple of weeks. Since the team has two disabled player exceptions from Steve Nash and Julius Randle’s injuries, it was reported that the Lakers were interested in signing their former player, Earl Clark.

Clark has played well in the D-League and while the Lakers remain interested, it appears the forward may be closing in on a lucrative deal to play in China instead according to ESPN’s Marc Stein:

With Randle out for the season and Ryan Kelly not likely to return until the new year as he is dealing with hamstring issues, the Lakers lack depth in the frontcourt. As a result, head coach Byron Scott decided to do something different by inserting Ed Davis into the starting lineup in place of Carlos Boozer.

Before the start of the three-game road trip last week, it was reported that the Lakers were looking to add another player when they returned to Los Angeles. While Clark may still be an option for the Lakers, they may have to look in a different direction and have been linked to Quincy Miller.
