The Lakers currently have thirteen players under contract after Tuesday’s signing of Shawne Williams and will likely bring 16-20 players to training camp, which starts in late September. While the team is expected to sign Ryan Kelly, the rookie’s progress with foot surgery has not been encouraging and will likely not be ready for the start of training camp according to multiple sources.
Amundson has bounced around in the NBA, but played two seasons with Steve Nash in Phoenix. In seven seasons in the NBA, Amundson has averaged 3.7 points and 3.6 rebounds and is known for his defensive energy.
