Lakers Rumors: No New Developments on Howard Deal

The Los Angeles Lakers are still trying to figure out a way to land Dwight Howard from the Orlando Magic, and new reports come out nearly every day. One second the Lakers are on the verge of acquiring Howard while the other it seems as though the big man is headed elsewhere.

At this point, the latest rumor surrounding the situation is that the Lakers informed one of their players that he will be traded to the Magic along with Bynum in a deal for Howard. That story broke late last night, but nothing else has surfaced, yet.

No developments on the Dwight Howard front. Lakers, Nets, Hawks, Mavs, Rockets all remain in play, league sources say.

Still, it appears as though the Lakers are the frontrunners for acquiring Howard at this point. The Magic understand that Andrew Bynum is the best replacement for Howard and only the Lakers can give them a player of that caliber.
