After All-Star Weekend in New York City, all the focus is on the NBA’s trade deadline on Feb. 19. One of the biggest names this season is Goran Dragic of the Phoenix Suns, who becomes an unrestricted free agent this off-season.

While there were rumors the Suns were trying to move Isaiah Thomas first, it appears Phoenix is ready to deal Dragic instead of losing him to free agency according to Bleacher Report’s Howard Beck:

After winning the Most Improved Player award this past season, Dragic has played out of position as the Suns are experimenting with a three point guard lineup that features Thomas and Eric Bledsoe. While Dragic is focused on helping the Suns make the playoffs, he has stated that he will have an ‘open’ free agency.

Los Angeles Lakers have reportedly wanted Dragic ‘all year’ and the latest rumor has the franchise offering him a max contract of four years, $80 million once he becomes an unrestricted free agent. With the Suns ready to trade dragic, it will be interesting to see if the Lakers try to acquire him before Thursday or wait for free agency in July.
