Lakers Rumors: Team Looking At Ex-Laker Jannero Pargo For PG Help

ESPN’s Marc Stein added another name to the rumor about the Lakers needing another point guard. In fact, it’s a name that should be a little familiar to Lakers fans.

In case people forgot, Jannero Pargo started his NBA career as a Los Angeles Laker when he was signed by the purple and gold before the 2002-03 season. He was used very sparingly by the squad and was finally waived early in the 2003-04 season. Pargo would go on to play for Toronto, Chicago, New Orleans, Atlanta, and Washington. He was waived by the Wizards earlier this season.

He’s made a living in the NBA as a reserve point guard, although he’s really much more of a shooting guard stuck in a point guard’s body.

Pargo is 33 years-old and at a limited role, he’s a decent player. His career numbers are 6.4 points and 2.0 assists per game and shoots .350 from behind the arc.

I’m not sure how much he can help and the Lakers must be truly desperate if they’re taking a look at Pargo. If they’re that desperate for help at point guard, the Lakers might as well sign Delonte West.

We’ll see where the Lakers go with this. Surely, they can do a little better than Jannero Pargo.
