I’m sorry Mr. Van Gundy

June 16, 2010 - Los Angeles, CALIFORNIA, UNITED STATES - epa02205886 Los Angeles Lakers coach Phil Jackson answers reporters questions following team practice at the Staples Center in Los Angeles California, USA 16 June 2010. The Los Angeles Lakers will face the Boston Celtics in game seven of the NBA playoffs 17 June 2010.

TNT analyst Mike Fratello called him “inappropriate”.  Stan Van Gundy referred to him as “ignorant”.  The zen master (as WE like to call him) issued an apology last week in response to Phil’s remarks the previous week regarding the coaching future of the highly acclaimed Miami Heat.

Last week, Phil told reporters that “Stan felt he had to say something and, unfortunately he got defensive about it”.

Jeez, I hope not TOO defensive, it’s hard enough defending Dwight Howard with your typical injury prone center missing!

Hey Phil, the next time you decide to be candid with coach Van Gundy, can you ask him to put on a tie instead?

Give it a rest…

Coach Phil Jackson made it clear to reporters this past week, that Pau Gasol is playing way too many minutes for this time of the season due to Bynum’s rehab.  It’s no question that the Big Spaniard needs a bit more rest, but the injured Bynum is getting all of the rest he needs to come back to the squad soon.

Phil came under a quick spotlight on Sunday when his sentiments for Andrew’s situation were directed more so by frustration.

Bynum didn’t seem to take it personal by telling reporters, “I don’t think that’s a shot at me at all”.

That’s great Andrew!  Here’s a shot at ya…can we have our money back?
