Los Angeles Lakers star Luka Doncic is obviously a generational talent, but his ability to make trick shots is also impressive. Since arriving in L.A., fans have seen Doncic take these absurd shots during his pregame warmup.
This lighthearted approach to end a workout helps players loosen up and to see a difficult shot go down tends to boost morale ahead of a game. That is a similar approach to Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry, who is notorious for his tunnel shots back when they played at Oracle Arena.
With both stars being well respected in their tricks, Doncic was asked who he would like to play in a game of HORSE and Curry was his answer, and the same for vice versa, via NBA:

Who knows if HORSE could propel itself into an All-Star Weekend event as it once was, but it certainly could draw eyes with two greats headlining in a fun competition. As shown in the video, they are extremely creative with their shots and somehow able to make it look effortless.
By practicing these varying degrees of trick shots, repetition helps Curry and Doncic, making them become professionals in this aspect. That is what makes these players all-time greats, their respective abilities to take and make difficult shots propels them in that conversation.
Despite these lighthearted finales to a pregame warmup, it could very well be a confidence booster heading into a game. While these greats do not need any sort of boost, it at the least reassures them that they are in this position for a reason.
Luka Doncic calls his performance against Warriors ‘unacceptable’
Unfortunately, Luka Doncic and the Lakers did not pick up a win against Stephen Curry and the Warriors on Thursday night. Partially due to Doncic’s poor offensive performance only putting up 19 points on 6-for-17 from the field and 0-for-6 from 3-point range.
Insult to injury, L.A. could not create separation from Golden State in the standings and falling into the Play-In Tournament is still possible. After the game, the newest Lakers star did not hold back on how he played against the Warriors.
“I think they were playing great defense. I think we didn’t play with enough stress, especially me, so that performance for me is unacceptable. When I play like that, it makes it harder for the team to win. So just gotta figure that out,” Doncic said.
