The Lakers received good news prior to the game that Kobe Bryant would give it a go and play against the Pacers. The Pacers are the league’s best defensive team as they beat the Lakers in their only meeting 79-77 in November. However, Steve Nash didn’t play and the Lakers had the chance to pick up a half game on idle Utah.

Lets get to the highlights.

Nice play from Earl Clark to get a bucket and a foul off a very good dish from Nash. Pacers lead 11-8.

Ron hits two triples and the Lakers are right back within five w/ 1:20 left. Basically the Pacers have looked as bad as the Lakers. — Lakers Nation (@LakersNation) March 15, 2013

Kobe is playing but the Lakers’ role players are stepping up as if he is out. Jamison and Blake have combined for 19 points and 8 rebounds.

Nash’s jumper is no good. It was in his hands when the light went red. But the issue is they started the clock early.

Official update from LAL: @kobebryant is done for the game. He played the whole 1st Q, but can’t go any more on the ankle.

Great pass from Dwight to Jamison for an open layup. That’s Howard’s third assist and the Lakers are back within two.
