Lakers vs. Timberwolves NBA Highlights: March 27, 2013

The Lakers continued their four game road trip in Minnesota Wednesday night. The Lakers haven’t lost to the T-Wolves since 2007 and are in need of a victory to snap their three game losing streak. Their hold on the eighth seed has dwindled down to a game and the news got worse as Metta World Peace was lost for the season.

Let’s get to the highlights:

The Lakers lead 11-6 early, but the Wolves are 0-3 from the FT line.

So far, Pekovic is outplaying Howard. Nikola has 6 points & 4 boards, Howard 2 & 1.

— Mike Trudell (@LakersReporter) March 28, 2013

Dwight Howard’s 2nd PF comes against Pekovic, one of the very few NBA guys as big up top as Howard. Gasol returns at 3:34 mark.

Back-to-back LAL turnovers in some sloppy play from Clark, then Bryant, are the 4th & 5th in just 8 minutes of a 19-all game.

— Mike Trudell (@LakersReporter) March 28, 2013

Kobe stole a lazy inbounds pass, & found Jamison for a layup that has LAL up 22-19. Bryant’s taken only 2 shots, has 2 dimes.

— Mike Trudell (@LakersReporter) March 28, 2013

Lakers lead 26-23 at the end of one. Kobe’s first field goal was a good one — a rousing dunk at the end of the quarter. Pau has 9 & 6

— Dave McMenamin (@mcten) March 28, 2013

Careless ball from the Lakers right now…

— Darius Soriano (@forumbluegold) March 28, 2013

Well, that was one of the most telegraphed passes I’ve ever seen. 12th turnover

— Serena Winters (@SerenaWinters) March 28, 2013

Lakers have committed 12 turnovers through 18 minutes, but lead 39-34. 9pts off the bench from Antawn Jamison.

— Los Angeles Lakers (@Lakers) March 28, 2013

Ugh, Chase Budinger is the last guy you want to leave open beyond the arc on this team. Lakers still lead 42-38 with 3 left to play.

— Lakers Nation (@LakersNation) March 28, 2013

Lakers show how they can play at a fast pace. Get defensive stops and then make quick outlet passes. Kobe finishes w/ left handed dunk

— Mark Medina (@MarkG_Medina) March 28, 2013

At the end of the half, Lakers up by 4 points, 50-46. But 15 turnovers, which makes me cringe

— Serena Winters (@SerenaWinters) March 28, 2013

The Lakers hit their first two shots of the 2nd half and extend their lead to 55-46. Great way to come out of the break.

— Lakers Nation (@LakersNation) March 28, 2013

JODIE MEEKS MADE A LAYUP! JODIE MEEKS MADE A LAYUP!

— Lakers Nation (@LakersNation) March 28, 2013

The Lakers have a 69-55 lead with about 6:30 left to play in the game.

— Lakers Nation Intern (@LNIntern) March 28, 2013

Jamison hit an and-1 3 (missed FT) on top of Kobe’s 3 on the previous trip, a 6-0 run putting LAL right back up 14 at 77-63.

— Mike Trudell (@LakersReporter) March 28, 2013

LAL was scoring so easily, they paid a bit less attention on D, allowing 33 MIN points … but they scored 41, are up 91-79.

— Mike Trudell (@LakersReporter) March 28, 2013

Dwight Howard is having quite a defensive stat game, now with 5 steals to couple his 4 blocks, plus 13 rebounds (and 18 points).

— Mike Trudell (@LakersReporter) March 28, 2013

Jamison was holding his wrist after missing inside, a rare miss tonight (18 points on 10 shots). Gasol replaces him at 8:22 mark.

— Mike Trudell (@LakersReporter) March 28, 2013

More goodness from @paugasol, a lil’ hook now giving him 17 points on 8 of 12 FG’s, plus 8 boards.

— Mike Trudell (@LakersReporter) March 28, 2013

Stu Lantz said that Dwight Howard dunk best, “It would’ve been a hard target to miss.”

— Serena Winters (@SerenaWinters) March 28, 2013

There’s LAL’s 20th TO, another one on Howard, who has 4. Minnesota capitalized w/a jumper to cut LAL’s lead to 9 w/3:30 left.

— Mike Trudell (@LakersReporter) March 28, 2013

Hack-a-Howard has began. We will have 56 seconds of seeing Dwight at the free throw line.

— Phillip Barnett (@imsohideouss) March 28, 2013

Howard hit the 5th FT, but missed the 6th; Minnesota scored 4 straight points to cut the lead to 7, & D12 goes back to the line.

— Mike Trudell (@LakersReporter) March 28, 2013

It’ll be either one of those Lakers’ sloppy wins or another embarrassing loss to a bad team. That’s the 2012-13 season

— Mark Medina (@MarkG_Medina) March 28, 2013

Kobe only hits 1/2 FTs but the Wolves can’t convert on the other end & the Lakers escape with the 120-117 win in Minnesota. #GoLakers
