Despite their 123-112 preseason loss to the Golden State Warriors, the Los Angeles Lakers had a much better showing against the top team in the Western Conference a second time around. Rookie Brandon Ingram looked as comfortable as he has been since the start of training camp, finishing with 21 points, to go along with his seven rebounds, four assists and two steals.

After the game, head coach Luke Walton said Ingram is further along as a basketball player than he’d expect anyone to be out of college, and Ingram credits Walton for putting him in the right positions to succeed. Ingram also talks about how having opportunities to run the point benefits his game and what he took away from his second meeting with Kevin Durant.

Nick Young finished with 19 points (five three-pointers) to go along with three rebounds, two assists and two steals as a member of the starting unit. Post-game, Walton gave him one of the highest compliments he’s given all camp. Plus, D’Angelo Russell talks about what he’s seen from Brandon Ingram and what could be missing from that starting unit.
