The Los Angeles Clippers have been in the headlines for all the wrong reasons so far in 2025-26. They have the ongoing investigation surrounding Steve Ballmer and Kawhi Leonard, and have been a disaster on the court, sporting a 7-21 record at 13th in the Western Conference. Then, while on a road trip, they sent Chris Paul home as stories surfaced that the team did not appreciate his leadership.

Meanwhile, Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James is getting his feet under him for his 23rd NBA season. He has, at times, looked fantastic this season, while struggling at others. One of his best games of the season came in a losing effort to the lowly Clippers on Saturday. He scored 36 points on 15-of-28 shooting, but nobody else could get anything going on the Lakers, while they were missing three starters and lost Luka Doncic at halftime.

After the loss, James was asked about his friend, Paul, as people try to make sense of the Clippers’ decision. LeBron didn’t give much in any direction, but says he hasn’t spoken to Paul since the story broke and that it’s none of his business, via Dave McMenamin of ESPN:

“It’s not for me to comment on, to be honest. It’s none of my business.” – LeBron James when asked about Chris Paul’s abrupt exit from the Clippers pic.twitter.com/HjfXMois71

James is normally not shy about speaking his mind when he feels it to be necessary or important. However, he clearly did not have interest in talking about the Paul situation. It’s possible that his friend asked him not to, or that he doesn’t want to speak while Paul is still technically on the Clippers and the situation remains unresolved.

Whatever the reason, James is staying out of the discourse as it relates to Paul and the Clippers. And hopefully, a resolution is reached soon so that Paul can continue to get the retirement tour he deserves.

James Harden doesn’t think LeBron James’ scoring record can be caught

James is now over 4,000 points ahead of Kareem Abdul-Jabbar for the most points in NBA history. He took sole possession of the record in February of 2023, and is now racking up a historic number of points every time he plays in a game.

Harden, who has been one of the league’s most prolific scorers over the last 20 years, joked that no one should even mention LeBron in these conversations as his record is unlikely to ever be touched.

Ron's all time favorite Lakers moment was Bryant's final game when he dropped 60 points. While the Lakers beating the Celtics in Game 7 of the NBA Finals, as Metta World Peace hit the game clinching three, will always be a top option, Bryant's final night takes the cake.
