Behind 33 points from D’Angelo Russell, the Los Angeles Lakers beat the Denver Nuggets 124-115 at the Citizen’s Bank Arena in Ontario for their third game of the preseason. After the game, Luke Walton assesses Russell’s performance and progression since the start of training camp and whether he thinks this team can mold into a three-point shooting team.
Nick Young was in the starting lineup on Sunday evening, in place of Luol Deng who is currently sitting out with a bruised knee. In addition to knocking down shots, Walton said it was Young’s defense that he was most impressed with. In the locker room, Young talks about Walton challenging him before the game to be a better defender.
We also saw a bit more of rookie seven-footer Ivica Zubac, who started in the second half. Walton gives his assessment to how Zubac is coming along, while Brandon Ingram talks about how he felt after his third game.
