The Los Angeles Lakers showed some fight against the Denver Nuggets on Tuesday night, but it was too little too late, as they battled back from a 19-point deficit, only to lose 127-121. One bright spot was rookie Ivica Zubac who finished with a career high 11 points, 13 rebounds and three blocked shots, recording his first double-double of his NBA career.
D’Angelo Russell said they’ve been seeing this type of potential all year long from him in practice. Head coach Luke Walton reiterated the importance of giving the young rookie minutes and opportunity because he’s truly earned it.
Speaking of Russell, after the game he admits that he hasn’t been “bringing it” the past few games, and understands why Walton has been cutting his minutes in the second half. Brandon Ingram admits that the losing is definitely starting to hurt.
Tuesday night also marked the first time this season, the Lakers have lost a game when scoring at least 120 points. Watch all of our post-game videos below.
