The Los Angeles Lakers will look to snap an eight game losing streak when they take on their cross-town rivals, the Clippers. Historically, the Lakers have dominated the series, but the Chris Paul-led “other” team has gotten the best of the purple and gold in recent years.
When the two teams met on Christmas Day, the Clippers walked away with the win, but the Lakers staged a late rally that put a scare into their rivals and provided some respectability.
The Lakers were blown out by Pau Gasol and the Bulls last night, after which head coach Byron Scott questioned whether or not the games were important to his players. The purple and gold will have their work cut out for them if they want to prove their coach wrong, as guard Kobe Bryant will miss the game in order to rest a variety of ailments.
