The Lakers were looking to continue their winning streak alive when they hosted the New Orleans Pelicans Tuesday night. Coming to the game, the Lakers held a record of 21-39. Check out the highlights below:

First Quarter

Pau Gasol – 2. Hornets – 0.

— Lakers Nation (@LakersNation) March 5, 2014

Gasol's scoring easily in the opening minutes, up to 11 in his 5 minutes after his 2nd and-1. He has all 11 for LAL, who trail by 2.

— Mike Trudell (@LakersReporter) March 5, 2014

Pau Gasol performed a nasty dunk and almost took a nasty fall in the process

— Mark Medina (@MarkG_Medina) March 5, 2014

Bazemore, who hit 4 triples at Portland, buried one from the corner to get LAL within 10 points late in the 1st Q. LAL's 1st 3 tonight.

— Mike Trudell (@LakersReporter) March 5, 2014

Second Quarter

Jordan Farmar's heating up, with a layup and then a triple to reach 7 points with 2 assists in his 6 minutes. Been playing great of late.

— Mike Trudell (@LakersReporter) March 5, 2014

There's Henry's first bucket, a triple off Farmar's hand, to cut the NOP lead to 10 midway through the 2nd Q.

— Mike Trudell (@LakersReporter) March 5, 2014

Jodie Meeks' drives to the basket 10x better than last year

— Mark Medina (@MarkG_Medina) March 5, 2014

Third Quarter

And with that layup, Kent Bazemore has scored more points in seven games as a Laker this season than in 44 games as a Warrior.

— Ben Bolch (@latbbolch) March 5, 2014

Gasol has 6 straight points to give him 23 tonight (+ 8 boards). Pelicans lead cut to 84-69 midway through the 3rd Q.

— Los Angeles Lakers (@Lakers) March 5, 2014

Kent Bazemore was 4 of 5 from 3 last night in Portland … tonight, he's 3 of 4 from 3, towards 15 points to cut NOP's lead to 11.

— Mike Trudell (@LakersReporter) March 5, 2014

PAU CONTINUATION GASOL.

— Lakers Nation (@LakersNation) March 5, 2014

Ryan Kelly's been solid in his bench minutes tonight. His block, then drawn charge, then baseline J making it 91-85 NOP.

— Mike Trudell (@LakersReporter) March 5, 2014

Fourth Quarter

A big 2-handed jam from Henry (Marshall's 8th assist) preceded the 3rd Ryan Kelly block, then another Henry hoop. LAL within 6.

— Mike Trudell (@LakersReporter) March 5, 2014

Momentum just shifted here at Staples, Lakers down by just 4, after being down by as many as 21.

— Serena Winters (@SerenaWinters) March 5, 2014

Jodie Meeks #And1Legend

— Lakers Nation (@LakersNation) March 5, 2014

Farmar gets the hoop to go, plus the foul. His FT caps the 3-point play and pulls the Lakers within 120-115, 3:30 left.

— Los Angeles Lakers (@Lakers) March 5, 2014

There's Farmar again, draining a pull-up 3 in transition to get LAL within 5 with 2 minutes to play. He's up to 20 points, 7 dimes.
