The Los Angeles Lakers concluded their preseason on Friday night at the Honda Center in Anaheim with a 98-94 loss to the Phoenix Suns. Despite finishing with a preseason record of 2-6, Walton thought his team had a very successful training camp, though he’s still got work to do in figuring out a cohesive starting unit.
With Timofey Mozgov out (bruised tailbone), rookie Ivica Zubac got the start and afterwards talks about it being his best moment as a Laker. Zubac also says he’s definitely open to playing with the D-Fenders this season, the Lakers D-League affiliate, to get more playing time to help polish his game.
D’Angelo Russell led his team in points and assists throughout the preseason and recaps the progress he’s seen the team make. Thomas Robinson, who’s on the edge of making the final roster, explains why this training camp felt so different compared to other camps he’s been a part of.
