As the Los Angeles Lakers open the 2015-16 season against the Minnesota Timberwolves, for possibly Kobe Bryant’s 20th and last season with the team, the speculation will continue.

— What will Kobe Bryant make this season? Find out here! —

Entering his third season as the Lakers assistant coach, Mark Madsen hopes that Bryant will make this season worthwhile and hopefully make a run for a playoff spot via SiriusXM NBA Radio on Twitter:

Mark Madsen wishes that @kobebryant has a "phenomenal" regular season & a playoff run if this is truly his last season #Lakers

— SiriusXM NBA Radio (@SiriusXMNBA) August 17, 2015

The Lakers these past few seasons have not been good as the team finished with a 21-61 overall record this past season, the worst in franchise history. Hoping to bounce back, the Lakers are in the early stages of the rebuild, but have a nice young core.

With Kobe Bryant likely shifting to small forward, it will allow head coach Byron Scott to start D’Angelo Russell and Jordan Clarkson in the backcourt. Although a playoff run would be quite the accomplishment, the Lakers face a difficult battle in the extremely competitive Western Conference.
